The Case IH NTX5310 Strip-till system has a unique design that can meet your agronomic objectives while keeping soil conservation in mind. The final result is a better return on your fertilizer dollar. Strip-till combines the best parts of conventional tillage with the field conditions of no-till. For growers who find it difficult to achieve desirable results with no-till corn, but want to reduce the environmental impact of tillage, Strip-till is the solution. Strip-till encourages plants to get off to a fast start so they are able to maximize your profit potential during stressful weather conditions. The NTX5310 is the ultimate Strip-till system. It allows you to manage your crop residue, improve soil tilth, band plant food in the root zone and enhance your seed bed conditions, while meeting the requirements of conservation tillage. Select from six- or eight-row, 3-point hitch mounted models, or eight-, twelve- or sixteen-row, pull-type models. Large, 24-inch-diamteter coulters cut heavy residue with ease and eliminate plugging and bunching. The NTX5310 provides smooth residue flow, using residue to retain moisture between the rows, but preventing residue from mixing into the seed bed. The NTX5310 breaks up compacted soil, allowing air and water to move freely through the soil and increasing root growth and yields. The exclusive, High-Clearance Shank (HCS)™ provides a holding force of 1,150 pounds, strong enough to hold the most difficult soil conditions and keep the fertilizer at the proper depth. It provides the surface residue cover of No-till with the benefits of tillage in the row. The NTX5310 Strip-till knife places dry liquid and or NH3 fertilizer in the moist soil of the root zone. The shank and knife design gives you a more uniform tillage depth and consistent fertilizer placement, ensuring that valuable nutrients are available to your plants throughout the growing season. By improving fertilizer utilization, you also reduce runoff and water contamination. The berm build’r™ attachment has blades that are properly positioned to retain soil off the knife and provide optimum berm height and shape. And with the pivot at the toolbar mount instead of the shank, the berm build’r stays in position even when the shank trips. The large, 18 inch-diameter blades provide ideal down force to minimize the mixing of residue into the berm or grooves along the side of the berm. The result is a more uniform seed bed.
